I opened an account with City Index about two years ago as I was attracted by their one point spread on the Dow stock index. I found their platform easy to use but had frequent problems with it crashing whilst I had an open position, particularly when the market was volatile. This meant that I was often unable to exit positions when I wanted. Other traders I know that used City Index had experienced the same problem. I haven’t used the platform in a while so I cannot confirm whether or not City Index has resolved the issue. On the plus side, they offered a very good free educational programme and I attended several seminars given by Sandy Jadeja.

My experience with CityIndex was quite bad. Every time I tried to close my order in periods of high volatility the system would just lag and any profit disappear. Then when I make a bad trade, suddenly the lag will disappear. Of course I complained to the City Index staff and all they answered was that they are not liable for any loss or profit oportunity according to their terms and conditions. I would say poor customer service!

City Index are real crooks in my experience. They obviously run against users - on 100 trade tickets on long position 97% went down in price and on average 100 position going short 96% of them went up in price! I had an open position for about 3 month, and straight after I closed it, the price went up. then I bought again after a few minutes, and the price when down again. so I sold it and the price went up again. Everytime I closed a position with the speed of light the price was going down, and back again. You can never win with city index! The worst on market to use! Keep away from them!
