Acacia Mining

Acacia Mining PLC has been in operation for about 15years since its inception in 2000. It was originally known as African Barrick Gold plc before the new name came into being in 2014. However, it was re-acquired by Barrick Gold in 2019.
At the time of its establishment, the gold mining business set base in Tanzania. It also explored other locations such as Kenya, Burkina Faso, and Mali. However, it settled its corporate offices in London, United Kingdom, even as it continues its operations in Tanzania.
Acacia is known as the largest gold miner in Tanzania. This is besides having made the name of being among the notable gold producers in Africa. The company plays a significant role in the development of sustainable relationships in Tanzania’s mining industry and around the world. It also aims at acting responsibly towards its immediate communities.
Today, the company operates three mines, all based in north-west Tanzania. Other exploration projects are in Western Burkina Faso, Western Kenya, and Western Mali. Its listing is on the LSE and DSE.
