The company has gone through various transition phases since its formation in 1879. Its founders, Walter Cobbett and William Fenton, first adopted the name W. Wilson Cobbett Ltd. In 1911 and 1925, it was known as Scandinavia Belting and British Belting & Asbestos, respectively. However, it 1967, it rebranded to BBA Group.

From all these unfolding, the company has become a British multinational aviation company with a global reach. Its headquarters are based in London, United Kingdom.

BBA Aviation offers aviation support and aftermarket services with a primary target in the Business and General Aviation market. Its services are characterized by high quality, consistency, and excellence. Customer service is always at the forefront of its services.

The company has three lines of business with different companies; Signature Flight Support, Ontic, and Global Engine. Each of them has independent operations in different parts of the globe.

In recent years BBA has expanded extensively even after obtaining a listing on the LSE market.
