The company’s formation was done in 2008. Its inventors were three visionaries; Philip Burks, Nicholas Vetch, and James Gibson. Big Yellow Group plc began operating as a self-storage company before its conversion into a real estate investment trust in 2007. However, it still offers self-storage and related services.

Apart from having its headquarters in Bagshot, Surrey, London, the company operates another 96 stores across the UK. Another 20 stores have the Armadillo Self Storage branding.

Big Yellow Group plc works with different homes and businesses by providing them with self-storage solutions. It is also a distribution hub for a majority of businesses in Britain.
