It acquired a subsidiary Thus Plc a telecommunication provider operating in the UK as well. In July 2012, Cable and Wireless was bought by Vodafone for £1.04B.

It had its headquarters in Bracknell, England, United Kingdom, and its operations are in Europe, North America, India, Asia Pacific, and the Middle East and Africa.

Cable And Wireless offered a single platform for the telecommunications needs of its customers, offering hosting and IP-based services, data, and voice services. It serviced governments, information providers, and large corporates, and was a service provider of broadband internet. It basically provided communication infrastructure and services for large telecommunications users. The company had a worldwide presence in the telecommunications industry and was listed on the London Stock Exchange.
