Carphone Warehouse Group

Carphone Warehouse Group Plc is a mobile phone retailer of British origin formed in 1989. In August 2014, it was acquired by Dixons Carphone after a merger of Dixons Retail and Carphone Warehouse. Carphone got its name when mobile phones were too bulky to be carried around and were therefore referred to as car phones.

It has its headquarters in London, the United Kingdom, where it uses the trading name Carphone Warehouse and in other regions, it trades as Phone House. The company has over 1,100 stores in the UK and Ireland.

The company executes its operations by providing a combination of the communication gadget (phone, tablet), the tariff, and the network to clients. It does this by engaging in research work on network tariffs and handsets and offering the best deal to the client. Carphone also offers trade-in services of phones and communication gadgets to clients. It is listed on the London Stock Exchange.
