Centamin

Centamin Plc. is a mineral exploration and mining company with offices in London U.K, Australia, and Egypt. The company began its mining operations in 1999 upon the acquisition of Pharaoh Mines, a company that later on became Centamin Egypt.

The company’s lead project is the Sukari Gold mine in Egypt that began operations in 2008. Centamin Plc. was granted 160 square kilometer lease for the Sukari Gold Mine project in 2005. A solid financial position and strong cash position has seen the company diversify its exploration operations into Burkina Faso and Cote d’Ivoire.

The exploration and mining company first went public in 1970 and were listed on the Australian Stock Exchange. In 2007, it secured listing on the Toronto Stock Exchange. Full listing on the London Stock Exchange followed suit in 2009, followed by delisting from the Australian Stock Exchange in 2010.
