FirstGroup Plc is a leading company that offers transport services across the UK and in North America. Founded in 1995 from a merger between GRT Bus Group and Badgerline, the company has headquarters in Aberdeen Scotland. It is an FTSE 250 Index constituent, and it trades on the London Stock Exchange.

Over the years, the company has continued its expansion policy by acquiring companies previously owned by the UK nationalized operators and council-owned operations. It operated as a bus operations company, but in 1996, it moved into railways and renamed FirstGroup. The company is the largest bus operator in the UK, operating over 20% of the local bus service. It also runs a passenger rail business that comprises of South Western Railway, Great Western Railway as well as Transpennine express. In North America, the company has several franchises, which include First Transit, First Student, and First Vehicle Services.
