Glencore International AG is a multi-industry company whose headquarters are in Baar, Switzerland. The company was founded in 1974 as Marc Rich + Co. AG., an eponymous of its founder, Marc Rich. Originally, Marc Rich + Co. AG involved itself with marketing natural resources like crude oil, metals, and minerals. The company later added energy products and agricultural commodities in its portfolio. A management buyout in 1993 saw Marc Rich + Co. AG renamed Glencore International. The new company established its dominance in the commodities trading industry after merging its assets with Xstrata in 2013.

Glencore is now a major player in the industrial metals and minerals industry, focusing on basic metals sector. The company’s operations are segmented into Energy Products, Agricultural Products, and Minerals. Glencore sources, markets, and delivers commodities from its production facilities and third parties and delivers them to the market. The company has operational stations across the world.
