Grafton Group Plc Ut was inaugurated under the brand name Chadwicks (Dublin) Ltd by William Chadwick in 1902. After a series of buyouts and Initial Public Offering, it was rebranded to the business Grafton Group. This happened in 1987 and at a time when the demand for building materials was gaining momentum.
Despite the rebranding, the company continued to buy out other merchants in the UK and Ireland. The company eventually settled in Dublin, Ireland.
Grafton Group Plc Ut has a business in three different segments; merchanting, retailing, and manufacturing. Its services are available in 35 stores in Ireland operating under the brand name, Woodie. Being one of the leading DIY retailers, it operates under strategic priorities, ethics, and integrity. It also embraces excellent service, acquisitions, and organic growth.
Despite its current strong portfolio and a listing in the LSE market, the company is still hanging onto its strategy of geographical expansion.
