Halma plc is a multinational group that produces and distributes innovative and technologically advanced products and solutions to detect hazards and other life-threatening events. The company was initially established a tea estate company in 1894 in Ceylon, and later it was made a public entity by the government of Sri-Lanka making it an industrial holding company for tea and rubber production. In 1973, the company was rebranded as Halma plc and had continued to expand its operations as a leading manufacturer of smoke detectors in the entire region of the United Kingdom.

The company is mainly listed on the London Stock Exchange and a component of the FTSE 100 Index. The company has four core business units; process safety, infrastructure safety, medical and environmental & analysis. Popularly known as a life-saving technology company, the firm focuses on the provision of innovative solutions to offset the safety and security challenges facing the current world.
