The company was formed in 1934. Its mandate was to oversee the estates of Alexander Henderson. With time it grew into being a global investment management company. In 2017, it merged with Janus Capital Group and rebranded its identity to Janus Henderson.

After the merger, the new company settled in the City of London, England, UK. Its primary business is in offering financial products to institutional investors, intermediary advisors as well as individuals.

Today, Janus Henderson is one of the global leaders in asset management and manages five asset classes in the form of mutual funds and ETFs. The company values partnerships, and with its evolution, it is well placed to offer investment solutions in a broad spectrum.
