Kier Group

Kier Group plc’s original name was Lotz & Kier, following its founding in 1928 by Jorgen Lotz and Olaf Kier. As a result of expansion, it underwent several phases of acquisition until it became Kier Group in 1992.

In 2018, the company was named as the second biggest construction contractor in the UK. Its activities include active building and civil engineering, private house building, Private Finance Initiative, and land development. The headquarters are in Sandy, Bedfordshire.

Kier Group plc has been involved in some of the major construction projects in the UK. The Channel Tunnel Rail Link (CTRL) and the Hairmyres Hospital located in the East of Kilbride are some of the initiatives the company takes pride in.

The company’s strategy defines its role and approach of operation. Besides being listed on the LSE market, Kier Group plc has a target of accomplishing a 10% additional social impact in its 2020 revenue.
