The company first purchased Dynacast in 2005 and has continued to acquire ineffective business enterprises and issuing them out once they gain momentum. Currently, the company has three key subsidiaries include Nortek, Brush Turbogenerators, and GKN.

Presently, the company purchases potential manufacturing companies, finances its operations, improves its investments, and sells it before returning the proceeds to the shareholders. Melrose provides a range of management solutions helping the companies to regain its position in the business world. The company operates in various industries, including aerospace, automotive, powermetallugy, and other industries. With a dynamic business environment, Melrose could be the only hope for many businesses failing across the globe. It is based in London, UK and its shares are listed on the London Stock Exchange and a component of FTSE 100 Index.
