Provident Financial

Sir Joshua Kelley Waddilove founded Provident Clothing and Supply Co Limited in 1880. The need to create business emanated from Sir Waddilove’s desire to assist families in acquiring essential items like clothes and furniture. The small venture would end up spawning the Provident home credit business. The company changed its name to Provident Financial after experiencing substantial growth and reaching a substantial number of people.

Provident Financial went public on the London Stock Exchange in 1962, where it trades as PFG. As a result, the company rebranded to Provident Financial plc. Further growth was to come by, and the company expanded its head office within Bradford, UK. Provident Financial Plc now organizes its business into divisions, namely Moneybarn, Consumer Credit Division, and Vanquis Bank Limited; it primarily operates in the UK and Ireland. Major products by the company include guarantor loans, online unsecured loans, car finance, home credit, and credit cards.
