PZ Cussons

In 1884, George Paterson and George Zochonis set up an outpost in Sierra Leone through which they traded commodities with the UK. This venture grew and expanded and later culminated into Paterson Zochonis Ltd, a company that traded commodities between Africa and the UK. In 1975, PZ acquired Cussons Group Ltd, which operated as a subsidiary of Paterson Zochonis plc. The new company accelerated the acquisition of factories across Africa and Asia, where the major product manufactured was soap. In 2002, Paterson Zochonis plc rebranded to PZ Cussons Plc and continued to expand its business scope through strategic acquisitions.

Presently, PZ Cussons has its headquarters in Manchester, UK. It deals in highly diversified activities, including manufacturing and distributing beauty products, soaps, detergents, and edible oils, among many other products. Major areas served by the company are Europe, Asia, and Africa. The company is listed on the London Stock Exchange, where it trades as PZC.
