Matthew Brown created the company in 1987. His objective was to own and manage Garfunkel’s Restaurant chain. It acquired the Mexican foodchain, Chi Chi’s but rebranded it to Chiquito in late 1980. In 2004, the name changed again to the Restaurant Group plc.
This is one of the biggest hospitality businesses in the UK, operating over 700 restaurants and pubs. Additionally, it has over 70 outlets in UK airports. The company’s regional offices are situated in London, England.
Restaurant Group PLC has something for everyone within its diverse portfolio of brands. Some of these brands include Coast to Coast, Frankie and Benny’s, Wagamama, Brunning & Price Joes Kitchen, and Garfunkel’s.
The industry is challenging, but it is an exciting time for the company as it continues to exploit new growth opportunities. In the recent past, it upscaled its guest experience and proud of its journey despite having a listing on the LSE market.
