In its initial years, the company acquired sites for development across the UK, which fueled its fast growth. The company, now renamed Slough Estates Ltd, developed the Slough Community Center for recreational purposes in 1937. During this period, the company grew its workforce to a little over 23,000.

Currently, the company operates as Real Estate Investment Trust focused on the United Kingdom market. In addition, the company develops and manages over 84 million sq. ft. space of warehouses and other industrial property. The company operates similar properties in Europe.
