Established in 1929 as RCA limited a segment of the Radio Corporation of America serves the cinema industry. In 1985 it was acquired by General Electric Limited and later renamed to Serco Group in 1987 then listed on the London Stock Exchange in 1988.

It is a British-based firm focused on providing public services working in the justice, health, immigration, defense, citizen service, and transport departments. Its countries of operation are the UK, North America, Europe, Asia Pacific, and the Middle East.

In the justice department, the focus is safeguarding the society, reducing opportunities for re-offenses, and managing services on justice issues in the governments of Australia, England, and Wales, and New Zealand. The group focuses on the provision of optimal experience to patients as they receive their services, and it provides support during the operation of military facilities in the defense department. On the immigration front, the group assists governments as they manage information and in border protection.
