Severn Trent

Severn Trent plc was established in 1989 as the parent company for Severn Trent Water Authority. Severn Trent Authority began operations in 1974 after Severn River Authority and Trent River Authority merged their operations. Subsequently, the Water Act of 1989 enabled the establishment of Severn Trent plc as the holding company of the newly merged Severn Trent Water Authority. Presently, Severn Trent plc accomplishes its operational obligations through segmentation into two core business sectors. The Regulated Water and Waste Water segment cater to customers who need water and sewerage services.

On the other hand, the Business Services segment provides services related to generating renewable energy. Other services under this segment include selling and managing land, property search, and developer services. Severn Trent has its headquarters in Coventry, United Kingdom. The company floated its shares on the London Stock Exchange in 1989 with the symbol SVT. Severn Trent is a constituent of the FTSE 100 component.
