Standard Life Aberdeen plc is a multinational investment company established in early 1825 as a mutual assurance company under the brand name, the Standard Life Assurance Company.

In 2006, it started trading its shares on London Stock Exchange and a component of FTSE 100 Index after undergoing demutualization. Also, it is listed on several indices on Dow Jones Sustainability Indices. The company has acquired several ventures through acquisitions and mergers including Focus Solutions, ThreeSixty, and Vebnet firms.

In 2017, the firm entered into a merger with Aberdeen Asset Management and changed to Standard Life Aberdeen. The firm has headquarters in Edinburg, Scotland, UK. Currently, it is the largest fund manager company listed in the UK with operations in more than 50 cities and serves consumers in over 80 countries across. The company offers financial services and information technology consultancy services and solutions especially through its subsidiaries.
