Established in 1856 by Richard Cobden and John Bright, British Land Company has evolved to become one of the biggest property development company in the U.K. The company’s core mission entails creating and managing places that reflect changing needs of people.

British Land Company’s real estate portfolio is made up of mixed-used places made up of campus-focused offices. London campuses and multi-retail environments account for 80% of the company’s total portfolio.  The company’s campuses and standalone offices account for 48% of the total portfolio. While retail accounts for 49% of the total portfolio. The company is seeking to reduce exposure to between 30-35%.

The company has over £16 billion in assets under management, of which it owns £12.9 billion worth. It boasts of 23.9 million worth of square feet floor space that contributes about £555 million in annualized rent.

British Land Company has its stock listed on the London Stock Exchange.
