Scottish Inv Tst

The company based in Edinburg was founded in July 1887 and is listed on the London Stock Exchange with its headquarters in Edinburg.

Its main business is focused on pooling global investor’s funds and thus enabling it to invest over a larger platform and with higher interest, exemption from liability, and greater security. This is much more advantageous compared to a single investor investing on his own. The firm has preference of working with professionals such as doctors, stockbrokers, lawyers, accountants, and ministers as its investors.

Scottish Investment Trust pursues three categories of investments:

  1. The shares that most investors tend to shy away from. These shares are in companies which have not operated profitably since long and are referred to as “ugly ducklings.” SIT takes this as an opportunity to invest in these stocks that yield higher dividend.
  2. Investment in firms that have recorded a considerable improvement in their operations though their returns have not been acknowledged in the market. They are referred to as “change is afoot.”
  3. The last category of interest is in companies that have potential and whose performance is generally good with the possibility for improvement. These are referred to as “more to come” investments.
