UBM

UBM Plc is a multinational company operating in the media industry. The company’s history stretches to the mid-19th century. However, the most well-known antecedent to the company is United Newspapers, which was established in 1918 by David Lloyd George. The company’s portfolio grew out of various acquisitions, including PR Newswire, Daily Chronicle, Daily Express, and Yorkshire Post Newspapers. The company changed name severally until its reorganization in 2008, where it adopted United Business Media Limited. In June 2018, UBM merged with Informa, and the new company was named The Informa Group.

UBM is a media company with operations in two major segments, namely, newspaper publishing and television services. In 1991, UBM entered the television business that prompted a name change from United Newspapers to United News & Media (UNM). After the 2008 reorganization, the company focused on distributing global news, organizing international events, and printing and publishing services. UBM delisted from LSE after joining Informa Group. The company is headquartered in London, UK.
