Udg Healthcare

UDG Healthcare PLC was established in 1948 as United Drug Chemical Co. Fast expansion of the business saw the company join the league of listed companies on the Irish Stock Exchange in 1989. Later, the company joined the London Stock Exchange, where it trades as UDG. The desire for the UDG to expand its geographical market share saw the company embark on a massive acquisition drive since 1999. In 1999, the company acquired Sangers, which gave it access to the Northern Ireland market. Further acquisitions followed in the new millennium starting from Ashfield Healthcare in 2000, Ventiv Health in 2002, In2Focus in 2005, Alliance Healthcare in 2007, and Sharp Corporation in 2008, among many others.

UDG is primarily a healthcare company with operations in Europe and the United States. It offers several services that include packaging of pharmaceuticals, advisory, clinical, and commercial services. Sharp and Ashfield remain the largest subsidiaries of the company. The company is headquartered in Dublin, Ireland.
