The Chicago Mercantile Exchange (CME) was inaugurated in 1841. At the time of its founding, it was given the name Chicago Butter and Egg Board, but a merger in 2002 created the present CME Group Inc.

It has global distribution in 150 countries, 11 global hubs, 12 strategic Partner Exchanges, and still pursuing new opportunities worldwide. Its listing is in the NASDAQ market.
