Starbucks Corporation is a U.S company operating one of the biggest coffeehouse chains in the world. Established in 1971 by Jerry Baldwin, in partnership with Gordon Bowker, and Zev Siegl. The company boasts of one of the biggest coffee retail chain across globe with over 30,000 outlets worldwide.

The company operates as a coffee roaster and retailer in Europe America, Asia Pacific, the Middle East, and Africa. Its first location outside the U.S was in Tokyo Japan opened in 1996, followed by the Philippine in 1997 and the U.K in 1998.

Its core business revolves around offering coffee as well as roasted whole and bean and ground coffees. The company offers products under brand names, espresso, caffe latte Teavana, Tazo, Seattle’s Best among others.

In addition, the company licenses its trademarks that allows people to operate licensed Starbucks stores as well as grocery and foodservice accounts.

The company went public in 1992, and the stock is currently listed on the NASDAQ stock exchange and is a component of the S&P 100.
