The global company serves millions of people every day through its products. It was founded in 1806 by William Colgate. Originally, it was just Colgate, but in 1928, it was acquired by Palmolive-Peet, and Colgate-Palmolive-Peet Company was created. Nonetheless, in 193, the Peet name was dropped to accommodate the current name – Colgate-Palmolive Company.

The company has its corporate offices on Park Avenue in Midtown Manhattan, New York City.

As an American multinational consumer, its primary focus is on the production, distribution, and provision of oral and personal care, health, and household products. It is also licensed to manufacture veterinary products, sports, and leisure equipment. Some of its recognized brands include Protex, Fabuloso, Sanex, Softsoap, among others.

Colgate-Palmolive Company has its markets in over 200 countries and territories. It operates in about 60 properties in the U.S, which is one of its major markets. Another 280 properties are located overseas.
