JPMorgan Chase & Co cast itself as an investment bank and a financial services holding company. The financial juggernaut came into being in 1996 following the merger of a number of U.S banking companies including Chase Manhattan Bank, JPMorgan & Com, Washington Mutual and Bear Stearns. However, its roots date back to 1799 on the company’s oldest predecessor Bank of the Manhattan Company.

Headquartered in New York, the financial service company operates under four segments. The Consumer & Community Banking segment offers deposit and investment products. The Corporate & Investment Bank offers investment banking products and services. The Commercial Banking segment offers financial solutions, including treasury and asset management to corporation’s municipalities and other financial institutions. The Asset and Wealth Management unit, on the other hand, offers wealth management services across various equities.

The company boasts of a primary listing on the New York Stock Exchange. It is ranked as the sixth-largest financial institution in the world with assets worth over $2.73 trillion.
