Accepting Houses Committee
Comprised of leading accepting houses and the major merchant banks, it was set up originally to supervise accepting houses and dealings in fine bills generally. Membership is normally reserved for merchant banks and accepting houses whose bills are freely taken by the Bank of England and are of the highest quality.
