Advice note

A document sent by a supplier to the customer prior to the invoice. Sometimes it precedes the goods, and sometimes accompanies them; it states the nature and quantity of the goods but not their price. Essentially just an indication that the goods are on the way, it is sometimes confused with a delivery note.
