Environmental Protection Agency (EPA)

A US federal agency for research into pollution and the environment. The EPA is concerned with air and water pollution by solid wastes, pesticides, toxic substances, and radiation; it collaborates with other federal agencies and coordinates the anti-pollution policies of state and local governments.
