A weekly bulletin enjoying thc unique distinction of being ‘published by authority’. Any information published in the London Gazette (or in Scotland, the Edinburgh Gazette) is notice to the world, or rather to the nation, and no one can deny knowledge of it, even though he i has neither heard of, nor seen, the publication. Matters included in the Gazette, apart from certain traditional items, are notification of public appointments, etc., details of winding-up orders ,bankruptcies, meetings of creditors, changes of names of companies, partnerhsips and individuals, changes in the constitution of partnerships, and all other matters which the law requires to be ‘gazetted’.
