Solicitor’s letter

Updated: Aug 20, 2021

Colloquially, a letter sent by a solicitor – usually for a fixed charge – to a debtor who has not paid his debt within a reasonable period of time. It is usually a last resort before taking the matter to court. In a subsequent court action the cost of the letter will be claimed from the debtor.
