Immunovant, Inc. on kliinisen vaiheen bioteknologiayhtiö, joka kehittää hoitoja autoimmuunisairauksiin, joissa haitallisilla immunoglobuliini G -vasta-aineilla eli IgG-vasta-aineilla on keskeinen rooli. Yhtiön työ perustuu neonataalisen Fc-reseptorin, eli FcRn:n, estämiseen. Tämä biologinen reitti auttaa kierrättämään IgG-vasta-aineita ja pidentämään niiden säilymistä verenkierrossa. Estämällä FcRn:ää Immunovant pyrkii alentamaan kokonais-IgG:n ja sairautta aiheuttavan IgG:n tasoja ilman, että immuunijärjestelmää tukahdutetaan laaja-alaisesti.
Yhtiön tärkeimpiin painopisteisiin kuuluu IMVT-1402, tutkittava FcRn:n estäjä, joka on suunniteltu kroonisiin autoimmuunisairauksiin, joissa vasta-aineiden pitkäkestoisesta vähentämisestä voi olla kliinistä hyötyä. Immunovantilla on myös kokemusta aiemmista FcRn-ohjelmista, mikä antaa sille alustapohjaisen lähestymistavan käyttöaiheiden valintaan ja tutkimusten suunnitteluun useissa vasta-ainevälitteisissä sairauksissa. FcRn:n eston mahdollisia käyttöalueita ovat neuromuskulaariset, endokriiniset, dermatologiset ja hematologiset autoimmuunihäiriöt, vaikka jokainen käyttöaihe edellyttää erillistä kliinistä validointia ja viranomaislupaa.
Kehitysvaiheen yhtiönä Immunovant ei toimi kuten hajautettu lääkevalmistaja, jolla on markkinoilla olevia tuotteita. Sen arvo on pitkälti sidoksissa kliinisten tutkimusten toteutukseen, turvallisuustietoihin, sääntelykehitykseen, tuotantovalmiuteen ja tuotekandidaattien kaupalliseen potentiaaliin. Yhtiö raportoi toimintansa yhtenä liiketoimintasegmenttinä, joka kattaa tutkimuksen, kehityksen ja niihin liittyvät valmistustoimet.
