Lyell Immunopharma, Inc. on kliinisen vaiheen bioteknologiayhtiö, joka kehittää syövän hoitoon tarkoitettuja soluterapiota painottaen seuraavan sukupolven autologisia CAR-T-solukandidaatteja. Yhtiön johtava kandidaattilääke on rondecabtagene autoleucel eli ronde-cel, joka tunnetaan myös nimellä LYL314. Ronde-cel on kaksikohteinen CD19/CD20 CAR-T-soluterapia, jota kehitetään suurisoluiseen B-solulymfoomaan, joka on yleinen non-Hodgkin-lymfooman muoto. Kohdistamalla kahteen B-soluantigeeniin kandidaatin tarkoituksena on puuttua kasvaimen väistämismekanismeihin, jotka voivat rajoittaa yhden kohteen CAR-T-hoitojen pitkäkestoista tehoa.
Lyellillä on myös oikeudet Manner-Kiinan, Hongkongin, Macaon ja Taiwanin ulkopuolella guanylyylisyklaasi C:hen eli GCC:hen kohdistuvaan CAR-T-solukandidaattiin. Ohjelma on varhaisessa kliinisessä kehitysvaiheessa hoitoresistentin metastasoituneen kolorektaalisyövän ja muiden GCC:tä ilmentävien syöpien hoidossa, mikä antaa yhtiölle näkyvyyttä kiinteiden kasvainten käyttöaiheisiin, joissa CAR-T-hoitojen onnistuminen on historiallisesti ollut vaikeampaa saavuttaa.
Pörssilistattuna bioteknologiayhtiönä Lyellin arvostus on tiiviisti sidoksissa kliiniseen dataan, sääntelykehitykseen, valmistuksen toteutukseen ja soluterapian kilpailutilanteeseen. Sen tuoteputki sijoittaa yhtiön onkologian korkean riskin mutta korkean potentiaalin segmenttiin, jossa tieteellinen erottuvuus ja tutkimustulokset ovat keskeisiä sijoittajien kiinnostukselle.
