Fosfaatinsitojat ovat vakiintunut lääkeluokka, mutta Unicycive pyrkii erottamaan OLC:n joukosta sen formulaation ja mahdollisen annosteluprofiilin avulla.
Yhtiö edistää myös UNI-494:ää, lääkeaihioita, jota tutkitaan akuutin munuaisvaurion hoidossa. Akuutti munuaisvaurio voi kehittyä nopeasti sairaalaympäristössä, ja siihen liittyy huonoja hoitotuloksia erityisesti haavoittuvilla potilailla.
