Forex: USD/JPY – Post-US Jobless Claims update

The US dollar resumed some losses on data, updated by the US Labour Department this afternoon at the beginning of the American trading session.

According to the weekly report the initial jobless claims value came in at 346K (the week ended June 1), against expectations for 345K, but better than the previous reading of 357K. Continuing jobless claims fell to 2.952M (the week ended May 25), against 3.004 the previous week.
Following the data’s release, the pair rose to 99.37 from lows at 98.84. Though it seems to have lost momentum the quote still a few pips above the 99.00 level.
