Apple Share Price: Company Warns Chinese to only Use Official Chargers
iNVEZZ.com, Thursday, July 25: Apple Inc (NASDAQ:AAPL), the most valuable tech company in the world, has posted a warning on its Chinese website, urging users to only use its official chargers with any of its products. The warning comes after the recently reported tragic death of an iPhone user in China. Reports last week have suggested that the victim might have been using a third-party charger, designed to look like those officially sold by Apple.
Ma Ailun, a 23-year old woman who was a flight attendant with China Southern Airlines, was reportedly electrocuted while answering a call on her iPhone as it was charging (Apple Share Price: Handset Maker to Probe Reports of iPhone-related Death). Following the fatal incident, the Cupertino-based company issued a statement, in which it expressed sadness over Ma Ailun’s death and promised a full investigation of the incident.
Earlier this year, a safety consulting and certification company, has warned consumers that fake Apple USB chargers were making the rounds, pointing to their lower quality and possibly dangerous defects.
