Vevo, which is owned by major music labels, including Sony Corp.’s Sony Music Entertainment and Universal Music Group, reportedly is the latest addition to the list of content providers for Apple TV. The tech giant announced in June programming agreements with Walt Disney Co’s ESPN and Time Warner Inc.’s HBO. The $100 set-top box also offers content from iTunes, Netflix Inc. (NFLX) and Hulu LLC.

Vevo will also be available through Samsung Electronics Co. television sets, one of the sources has said. Reports about the deal between Apple and Vevo were carried earlier by AdAge and The Wall Street Journal.
Jennifer Press, a spokeswoman for Vevo, had declined to comment, while spokespersons for Apple and Samsung hadn’t responded to requests for comment, Bloomberg said.

Bringing its music video content to TV sets represents an opportunity for Vevo to expand beyond Google Inc’s (NADAQ:GOOG) YouTube. Google and Vevo have been partners since 2009, when Vevo was created as a new way to capitalise on the growing number of users watching music videos online. The

Vevo YouTube channel is one of the biggest and most visited channels on the video-sharing website.
The music video service is already available on Roku players and through applications for iOS and Android-based mobile smartphones and tablets.
