Birmingham is gearing up to promote itself as a location of major investment opportunity, with a record number of local and regional real estate businesses signing up to be present at this year’s MIPIM real estate show in Cannes.

Birmingham has been enjoying a huge amount of investment from overseas, so much so that it has become the UK’s number 1 region for foreign investment in property for 2014. The number of projects that began in 2014 in the Birmingham area created just under 5000 jobs.
Craig Tatton, managing director at Thomas Vale Construction, said: “As a locally focused business, which is part of one of the world’s leading construction groups, we are very keen to attend MIPIM with Greater Birmingham this year. The event will provide us with great opportunities to establish new relationships with potential partners and clients from across the globe.

The MIPIM show is a massive affair, attracting over 21,000 participants from all over the world. With approximately 4500 investors attending, a successful representation of Birmingham’s potential in both real estate and business terms would set the city on course for another prosperous year in 2015.
With 24% of attendees at the showcase going with the sole purpose of finding the right property investment to engage with, the Greater Birmingham group will hope to come away with a great deal of success as there is likely to be a significant degree of interest in the region. The profile of the city is currently in particularly good stead in light of the international attention the city received by being named in the top ten cities in Europe for real estate investment.
