Digital currency startup, Luno, has been honoured as UK’s fastest growing startup in the Tech5 competition hosted by TNW and Adyen.
Tech 5 is an annual competition showcases and awards the fastest growing companies by revenue in six key European markets. Luno was announced as UK’s tech startup with the highest revenue growth for 2018.
Luno, a global digital currency wallet and exchange, was founded in 2013 and completed several rounds of funding and recently raised a $9million Series B round, led by Balderton Capital, to help drive global expansion. With over 1.8 million users across over 40 countries, Luno allows consumers to buy, sell, store and learn about digital currencies such as Bitcoin and Ethereum.
“It is a real honour for us to be in the list of UK finalists at Tech5, let alone be recognised as the winner against so many great UK start-ups. It really validates the potential of digital currencies for consumers”, said Marcus Swanepoel, Co-founder & CEO of Luno. “We have worked exceptionally hard over the last few years and focused on providing the best possible service for our customers, so it is great to see that paying off.”
Luno now aiming for “Fastest growing tech company in Europe” title
Luno will now go on to compete for the European title against the national Tech5 winners from Germany, The Netherlands, Spain, France and Sweden. The winner will be revealed at TNW Conference 2018, on May 24th.
