StorX (SRX)

The project is designed as an alternative to conventional cloud storage platforms, where data is typically held by a small number of large providers. StorX instead encrypts user files, breaks them into fragments, and distributes those fragments across multiple hosting nodes. This approach is intended to reduce reliance on any single company, server, or location while improving resilience against outages and unauthorised access.

Users retain control over their data through encryption and access permissions. Since files are split and distributed, an individual node operator does not receive a complete readable copy of the stored information. The network’s design therefore focuses on privacy, redundancy, and censorship resistance, while still aiming to offer a practical storage service for individuals, developers, and organisations.

StorX is built around a marketplace in which storage capacity can be supplied by participants that meet the network’s requirements. Node operators are rewarded for contributing reliable capacity, while users pay for storage services through the platform’s token-based economy. StorX has also been associated with the XDC Network ecosystem, reflecting its focus on efficient blockchain settlement and enterprise-oriented infrastructure.

SRX’s role is tied to demand for decentralised storage, the reliability of the node network, and the project’s ability to compete with both traditional cloud providers and other blockchain storage protocols.
