Drax Group Plc was created in 2005. It was one of the 12 regional electricity companies founded under the Electricity Act 1989 following the privatization of the electricity industry of England. National power owned the company until after a series of restructuring processes when it went under the ownership of various financial institutions.
With its established headquarters in the Drax, North Yorkshire, England, the British power generating company has several enterprises; on the upstream and the downstream.
The company’s corporate business is facilitating lower-cost energy to the communities it serves through the promotion of a zero-carbon environment. The decarbonization project has come in handy for a vast majority of homes in the UK who use fossil fuels for their heating.
Drax takes points of pride in being able to offer its customers the ability to control their energy. Renewable energy is also beneficial in rebalancing the economy. Meanwhile, the power company is enlisted in the LSE market.
