The origins of G4S plc dates back to Copenhagen, Denmark, where it all started as a guarding business in 1901. It operated under the name Group 4 Falck security business, which merged with Group 4 in 2000. In 2004, the group set out for a bigger amalgamation with Securicor to form G4S.
The company trades both locally and internationally with its corporate offices in London, England. Its services include manned security, cash handling, justice, and outsourced services. It also offers response units and monitoring equipment
Over the years, G4S plc has rolled out a brand identity and is named the third-largest security company globally. Its clients are from all walks of life, including individuals and governments overseas.
The company has continued to secure new mergers as a way of strengthening its presence in over 90 countries. Its employment capacity is in the tune of 570,000 employees, which makes it one of the largest employers on the LSE market.
