Polymetal is a precious metal mining company with operations in Russia and Kazakhstan. Founded in 1998 in Saint Petersburg, the company has grown to become a juggernaut in the mining of gold and silver in the two countries.
It currently has a portfolio of nine, gold and silver producing mines backed by a portfolio of future growth projects. The company operates gold and silver mines in six regions of Russia and Kazakhstan, as well as Armenia. Its vast portfolio is made up of 36 licenses spanning over 7,800km2 the precious metal mining company is currently ranked as the third-largest silver producer. It’s also the fourth-largest gold producer in Russia.
The company went public in 2011, resulting in the listing of its stock in the London Stock Exchange, consequently issuing £491 million worth of shares. The company also boasts of a secondary listing on the Moscow Exchange as well as the Nur-Sultan International Exchange.
