The company’s roots date back to 1907 when James Casey partnered Claude Ryan to establish an American Messenger Company. The proprietors later merged With Evert McCabe, resulting in the formation of Merchants Parcel Delivery that later rebranded to Unite Parcel service in 1919.
Years of expansion and investments have seen the company evolve into one of the biggest logistics company operating under three main segments of U.S Domestic Packages, Supply Chain & Freight, and International package deliveries.
Headquartered in Atlanta, Georgia, United Parcel Service has operations in approximately 220 countries, whereby it offers time-definite delivery services as well as domestic and international shipping services. The company’s logistics network boasts of over 123,000 package cars as well as vans, tractors, and motorcycles. United Parcel Service also owns 47,000 containers used to transport cargo in its airline.
