About Phoenix Group Holdings

Phoenix Group Holdings traces its history back to 1782. The company is a composition of three major companies that joined at different times along the lifetime of the core company. London Life began in 1806, while Pearl Loan Company began in 1857, and National Provident Institution in 1835. Pearl Loan Company merged with Pearl Life Assurance & Sick Benefit Society in 1864 to form Pearl Assurance.

In 1990, Pearl Assurance acquired Australian Mutual Provident Society and later acquired the National Provident Institution in 1999. The new company continued to grow via acquisitions and changed its name to Phoenix Group in 2012. Phoenix Group Holdings provides life insurance in the United Kingdom. In addition, the company provides pension management services and financing services. All the operations are grouped under four segments, which are Management services, UK Open, Europe, and UK Heritage. Phoenix has its base in London, and its shares trade on the London Stock Exchange with PHNX as its symbol.
