Tether (USDT)
Tether (USDT) es la stablecoin vinculada al dólar más grande y más utilizada del mercado de criptomonedas. Está diseñada para cotizar cerca de un dólar estadounidense, ofreciendo a traders, exchanges y aplicaciones blockchain un activo digital que se comporta más como efectivo que como una criptomoneda volátil como Bitcoin o Ether. USDT es emitida por Tether Limited y circula en múltiples blockchains, incluidas Ethereum, Tron, Solana y otras, lo que la convierte en un activo común para liquidación y transferencias en toda la economía cripto.
La función principal de USDT es la liquidez. Muchos exchanges de criptomonedas ofrecen pares de negociación frente a Tether, lo que permite a los usuarios entrar y salir de activos digitales sin volver al sistema bancario tradicional en cada transacción. También se utiliza para transferencias transfronterizas, pagos, actividad DeFi y como depósito temporal de valor durante periodos de volatilidad del mercado. Como existe en blockchains públicas, USDT puede transferirse entre billeteras y plataformas compatibles, aunque pueden aplicarse comisiones de red y cargos del exchange.
Tether afirma que sus tokens están respaldados por reservas que incluyen efectivo, equivalentes de efectivo, letras del Tesoro de Estados Unidos y otros activos. La composición y la transparencia de esas reservas han sido objeto frecuente de escrutinio, y USDT ha atraído debate regulatorio y de mercado debido a su escala y su importancia para el trading de criptomonedas. A pesar de esa controversia, Tether sigue siendo una pieza central de la infraestructura del mercado, funcionando como un sustituto digital del dólar para usuarios que necesitan liquidación rápida basada en blockchain y amplia aceptación en exchanges.
