Fervo Energy is a geothermal energy developer focused on building, owning, and operating power projects that can supply clean electricity around the clock. The company applies techniques more commonly associated with the oil and gas industry, including horizontal drilling, advanced subsurface modelling, and fiber-optic sensing, to improve the performance and predictability of geothermal reservoirs.
Its approach is aimed at expanding geothermal power beyond the limited number of locations where naturally occurring steam or hot water resources are easy to access. By using enhanced geothermal systems and real-time reservoir monitoring, Fervo seeks to make geothermal development more scalable and better suited to large corporate, utility, and grid reliability needs.
Fervo’s business model centres on developing geothermal assets and selling the electricity they produce, typically through long-term power purchase agreements with utilities, technology companies, and other large energy buyers.
